Throughout the years, artists, many of whom are or were members of the Cowboy Artists of America supported ACSO by donating original art. Because so many generous artists, individuals and organizations have believed in the dream Bill Owen had, they helped to make it come true. As a result, Bill was able to experience the pleasure of giving something back to many of the same people and their children he portrayed in his art. These individuals perpetuate the lifestyle that meant so much to Bill throughout his career and lifetime. Bill knew he could not accomplish this feat on his own and he was so very grateful to the many who helped make this personal reward a reality. After Bill’s passing I asked the Board to consider legally changing the organization name to Bill Owen, Cowboy Artist, Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc., to become known as BOCA and they wholeheartedly agreed. I could not carry on without the Board of Directors and those who continue to support, in any small way, the efforts now made in the memory of Bill Owen, and I am grateful.
